New York Fashion Week gave us a thrill…….
Helmut Lang
Classic Helmut Lang, sharp tailoring and sleek lines. Mono-tone and nude shades in silk and leather created a sophisticated collection. Matt wool and shiny silk provided a bold contrast. Asymmetric prints and cleverly constructed panels added interesting details.
Marc by Marc Jacobs
In the slot expected to be filled by the main line collection, Marc by Marc Jacobs had some big Manolo’s to fill….thankfully the show was fabulous- full of 1940′s old school glamour. Muted colours, retro prints and vintage inspired shapes. Berry lips, wild hair and a splash of tartan completed the look.
Michael Kors
Michael Kors turned out a super strong collection, powerful and elegant- Urban New York. Sticking to a colour palette of bright orange, yellow and cobalt on a black background, you couldn’t help but be impressed. Zips, panels and visors gave a sports-luxe feel with a 90′s retro twist. A dash of camouflage thrown in for good measure.
Reem Acra
I couldn’t resist showing you Reem Acra’s ‘lady and the vamp’ collection. Red and black with a touch of silver and white to lift this dramatic collection. If ever you’re in need of a dress to make an entrance- look no further. There was lace, beading, embroidery, silk and fur.
Great show NY……
